    I thought Melbourne has higher registration cost than Sydney?

    No. Melbourne (at least post code 3000) has 624.10, but that includes the "CTP" which they call something else.
    Sydney is $313 for the rego and then $450 to 490 for the CTP....

    VIC's stamp duty is 2.5% up to $57466
    NSW is 3% up to $45000

    ACT's stamp duty is 2% for the Polo GTI, and 0% for the 77TSI because of our "Green Vehicle Scheme". But I think our registration costs are higher...

    You must be above 30 cos my CTP is like 600 easy , thanks to that MCIS levy i think its called

    I think all the VW figures for "drive away" prices are based on a 40 y/o. But yeah... in several of the states the prices are dependent on the individual - hence why there is always such a long disclaimer on manufacturers drive away prices

    That's because you bought in hick-town, not melbourne and the dealer was nice, unlike the one locally that like reaming people in the back passage with their (lack of) customer lies, sorry, service...

    Hi Guys,
    I bought my Polo GTI 5 door hatch in Red last Saturday and will be picking it up tomorrow! I paid $33,480 (drive away) with rear sensors.... did i get ripped off?
