This is what is said word for word out of the Australian manual.
"Depending on how you drive and the conditions in which the car is used, oil consumption can be up to 1 litre/2000 km and is likely to be higher for the first 5000 km for new vehicles"

What oil temps are you guys getting on the freeway?
Never owned a turbo car befor and am quite surprised how hot the oil gets.
Does the car have an oil cooler?

Depending in the day, at the minute I'm averaging exactly 100, up to 104 through the mooroduc roundabouts though...

Back on topic....

I have the CAV engine and travelled 5000kms in just over a month. Oil light still has not come on.

is this a good sign? I think I have soot spotting though cos even as soon as I was the car, I get little black freckles on the rear bar, number plate and hatch lid

Yeah over 100 but cant remember the exact figure. I'll keep an eye on it

Just wondering if anybody knows how much oil is used when the check oil message is displayed it has happened to me twice in 8000k's both times I got the dealer to top it up and was never really told how much they put in ......thanks

Thanks Brad I was worried that it was more and the engine may get damaged as a result.
