In fact, this morning I had a very, very sad Mk6 golf 118 TSI go past me up a side street near my girlfriends place on a flat bed after an engine fire with no other frontal damage, related maybe to the oil and overheating issues also on a global scale? Or just a random coincidence...?

Nasty! I always wonder about overheating when I see the oil temp hit over 100!!!

my gti polo is arriving tuesday really worried about oil issue and thinking about pulling out . vw havent even notified me that it has left the port its my first vw and really dissapointed in vw service and not owning up 2 the obvious problem with oil burning not sure i want to own one now really excited any more feels like ive got a lemon on the way im afraid Drew

Hahjaha! I honestly wouldn't give back or complain about my car! The oil problem isn't but but I am in less then 1000kms going in for a free oil test after my second refill. I'm not phased as the car is amazing and couldn't ask for Anything else! get excited about your car!

I'm happy with my car, is what i should have said. What i'm not happy about is the sheer lack of customer support that is afforded to the owners of clearly defective vehicels from dealerships with quotes like "we can't do the consumption test until 5000kms" and the clear, global issue that is seemingly swept under the carpet because as usual from VAG, there must have been space in the too-hard basket and that space needed filling.


Guys and Girls, there is a sticky now at the top of the 6R forum, this is run by the administrator team, could you please post your info regarding this issue into this thread, it will be much appreciated.
