I just topped up the gti today after there was barley no oil left on the dip stick. There was none when the mechanic check it .
And I've only done 6750 km. Lucky I still use my old car in the bad weather or I would have top it up long time ago.

Log it in the top sticky of the 6R section please. For all of you who have had / do have oil consumption issues, if you actually want a decent solution to potentially come of this, you need to fill in the register at the top of the stickies list, otherwise all your bitc*ing and moaning on here will amount to nothing.

The diesel owners had similar issues with their piezo injectors and maintained a register and it got them a result through VGA to have problems fixed but clearly, none of you actually care enough. Think of it this way, how are you going to feel when after your warranty runs out and you want to get rid of the car, you take it to a dealership and they say:

"Sorry sir, all we can offer you is $7000 trade in because we know how problematic these cars are regarding oil consumption. We cannot take the risk of having to replace a whole engine, don't be silly!"

    Or how about:
"Sorry madam, you have had your car back in here 4 times for oil consumption issues and even though we did all the work on that car, we know the history of it. So, in that case, we are willing to offer you $8500 on your 3 year old, 35,000km motor vehicle that you paid $32,000 for 3 years ago!"

That's exactly what Holden dealers were doing with LS1s when some of the engines were problematic. I went to trade mine and it wasn't one of the affected ones but it didn't stop them trying.

After the service at 9500km, and then the 1000km oil comsumption test resulting in 300ml used. I finally got the oil warning at 13,450km.

    Filled up 500ml.

Can anyone tell me again what the oil usage would be from a service to the oil warning light? Is it really 1.2L?

500ml/1000km (VW say 1000ml/1000km IIRC) so your 800ml/4000km is well within limits (for most manufacturers, not just VW)

wow glad that didn't happen with my old tdi. Although I am surprised at seeing no 'sticky' problem register for dsg7 problems. Although I think my car was just a friday/monday car. I still got a fairly good trade for mine even though the citroen salesman knew its gearbox was broken. Trade value of $19, 000 and he phoned me about 2 weeks ago he sold it $24, 990. Not bad imo.
    TRADED THE BEE'12 Sport Yellow/Black Citroen DS3 DSport THP155 6-spd manual w/ tech pack.

'23 MINI Countryman SE ALL4 PHEV | MINI Yours | BRG
