Had mine topped up this morning at the dealer. They topped it up free of charge...in and out in 5-10 mins.

Done 4400km and required 1-1.2 litres.

Hopefully will taper off after 5000km.

Only been reading the Oil issues since late last week.. Waddya know.... I've done 4000kms (YESTERDAY) in the GTI Polo and Check Oil lamp and alert pops up on the dash!!

Same with me GTIPolo6R I too went to my dealer and they topped it up. Barely any left and they just recommended me to go buy some Castrol stuff... they explained because it's a new car everything is wearing in and every 1000kms a litre would be used.

That's utter BS - the dealer should be providing you with top up oil as they have done for others here.

Pah, mine used less than a litre in 6700km from new and ask walkerchan, kaanage, RS Dave, and Buller Scott (squealing tyres and all!) that I wasn't hanging about on the 2 cruises I did with them.

I hope it does settle down for you though. How often are you peoples using WOT?

Thats one positive thing I have to say about my service centre. They're helpful. They recommended I bring in an empty container and they'd fill it up for me for free

My Gti started it's oil consumption test today. See how we go...

Have had 3 driveway services and never had to pay for any oil, or told to go buy my own.

UNBELIVABLE, the guy in the link below, with his Ibiza TSI 180hp, never had a problem till now in 35.000Kms, he checked the oil level 1.000Kms ago and was ok; suddenly he had the RED oil light on! Not even the yellow one, directly the red light...!!

2.5 liters were missing from the last check (1.000Kms)

This engine is a gamble, you never know what expect from it...

I haven't been on these forums for a while but it's disturbing to read some of the oil consumption issues. I have 14,000kms on mine and have used just over 2.5 litres so I should probably be 'happy'. It was delivered into the country Dec 2010 so I suspect it could be one of those with possible piston ring issues. At 14,000kms I would expect the engine to be worn in but it's still using oil. I'm going to ask the dealer but what do you think my chances are of getting things replaced?
