I hope that they will not try to claim this cost from me . I have one car 2013 and it is drinking oil that is not good... On the orher hand, VW needs to changed oil jets for all GTIs even for the ones less than 500ml for 1000km . Is it ok if the consumpsion is 450 ml for 1000 km ?

Btw do we know the cost for oil jets ? This is plan B if they will say that consumption is less than 500 ml .

Compare to 1L every 1000km,i cant complain now. May be need 2 top up between service now

Is this CAVE or CTH ? and please share the last update after upgrade ... Btw did you sign a bill after change ? So maybe you know the price of the parts updated ?

My Fabia went to the dealers yesterday. They didn't even test it. They made some phone calls, ordered the jets and said they would ring when they arrive to book in for fitting.

So after reading through pieces of this thread due to its size I am a bit confused. Can anyone say why CAVE engines use so much oil compared to CAVD? Also, if I tune my CAVD engine to the same power as the CAVE will i experience the same oil usage issues?

CAVe and CAVd engines are identical mechanically, the software is different. Pretty simply, some burn oil, some don't - lots of factors.

Mechanically identical as in the exact same part numbers? From what I've read on here it seems disproportionally higher in favor of CAVE burning more oil than CAVD. Granted I am from a different region where only CAVD engines are sold but we don't experience the oil burning issues. Climate is similar to Australia's as well.
