I was sitting at around 220ml per 1000km before the first service. I'm 4000km past that now and it's dropped to 120ml per 1000km.

    Hi All ,

I have Polo GTI 2013 with CTH engine. (26000 km ) Oil usage was 1lt for each 3000km when I was using castrol 5-30. Then I changed oil with mobil 1 ESP 5-30 and oil consumption increased to 1lt for 2000 km . Last oil warning come up at 1600 km and I decided to visit VW for that. I will do that this week but this is first time I heard about oil jet upgrade. To be honest even did not know about such a part of engine. So is there anyone at this forum with oil jet upgrade but still have oil problem ? I am writing from Turkey and I am not sure that VW Turkey is aware of that or not .

    Regards

    Is it still under warranty?
Go to the dealer and follow their process, in Australia we have to do a consumption test, (over 500ml per 1000kms) then breather mod, then another C Test, then oil squirters.
No person appears to have oil consumption after the Oil Squirters have been done.

Breathers are supposed to be fitted at the same time as the oil injectors....

My breathers were installed about 100kms before the oil squirters... then the squirter mod became available.

Maybe they have changed the process slightly now.

My dealer says the squirters are a 100% fix.

Yes it is still under warranty ( last two months ) and last oils consumption was 1lt for 1600km with mobil 1 . I am worried that if my car will not consump same during test ... I will go to VW this week but I added 200 ml oil last week and i am now waiting for oil warning . I will call VW and ask that what will happen if i ll request oil test without warning. I ll let you know with result.

You don't need the warning to be on. When they carry out the test they will drain the oil from the engine and refill with fresh oil and note the weight of the oil. Following the 1000km the oil will be drained and reweighted. If it is over the specified consumption of 500ml/1000km then repair work will be carried out.

However, if the test comes in <500ml and "passes" then you will be hit with the cost of the test.

Not sure if that applies to all dealers as my car underwent the test and it came out at 400ml/1000kms so it 'passed'. But, I wasn't charged anything. FYI, car was under warranty then.

They probably internaled the charges, however warranty itself will not cover passed tests.
