I'm not quite sure why so many of you are sitting on your hands & not making use of your statutory warranty.
Maybe most people are in my situation - very borderline oil consumption. Enough to need to be way more watchful than you should have to be these days, but not enough to be "out of spec".
I agree, though, if they've already agreed your problem is severe enough to warrant a new engine, you've got a great case...
My hope is that this kind of action will prompt a proper fix, implemented by a recall - because I otherwise love this car!
