I have another question and this directed to either really. Are the connectors/plugs from the car the same for both the xenons and halogen?
So it's an easy if I don't want bi xenons just unplug kits, bulbs and cables and then just plug halogens straight in, or do I have to convert the whole housing so it's compatible with the head lamp?

Sorry if this is confusing I don't know better how to explain

I say this because gavs you mention if I use the xenon headlamps go ahead just use halogen bulbs in the projector. I'm happy to do this but is it as easy as just replacing the new headlamp (xenon) with old (halogen) and then replugging everything back in? The only difference would be no parkers (replaced by DRLs) and outside visually the headlamps look like xenons?

Sorry again to hi jack thread, if you want you can remove I just figured there's first hand experience here.

    Cheers sorry to bother.

No both headlight have very different plugs. The original halogens have 8 thick pins where the xenons have 2 sets of 4 small pins and a group of 6 thick pins. Neither will fit into each other even with a few mods. A whole new plug is required.

Also it will be practically impossible to put a hallogen bulb in. Though it is possible to put it in the hole the clips for holding the bulb in place are different. They are designed to hold a thick square box, not a thin circle disc.

Ohh ok so basically as gavs suggested its practically impossible to install halogen globes inside a xenon headlamp, without making altercations? I guess the xenons come with the headlamps so it's not like I'm saving money. The guy from omtuning isn't great at English so I'm having trouble getting any details from him....lol

I'm too scared to take the plunge and do it, as I don't want to trouble any on coming hwy drivers and take the risk of getting defected. I'm just not sure how bad a risk it is?

    Thanks again nomadx

mine has a light mist in the bottom inside corners (towards the red gti grill) on really cold wet days. It never moistures up enough for water droplets... but it looks like someone breathed on it from the inside. I googled and it seems its normal for xenons. Its even in Audi A1 manuals that its acceptable apprantly
