so i know its a odd questions to ask but how hard would it be to fit a dq250 golf gti dsg into a 1.8t polo gti,
ive already blown up one gearbox and got a new one installed under warranty just wondering if my new gearbox ever goes pop again what stronger options i can go for
yeah i get what you mean, it was my mechatronics first that gave up basically took it back to vw after 3 months of complaining that theres something seriously wrong with car then the first clutch pack gave up so my 1st , 3rd , and 5th gear was basically crunching while driving in almost all modes d ,s and paddle shift, i dont have a tune at the moment and probably never will because of how poor the gearboxes are in these cars but i ran a 14.4 flat lol on the quarter with that ****ed gearbox and under warranty got a new one.
From what I have seen the 1.8 litre and 2 litre engine blocks are the same, the 1.8 litre has the shorter (84.1mm) stroke compared to the 2.0 litre (92.8mm) while both have an 82.5 mm bore. There are of course other mechanical interchange issues, drive shafts, gearbox mounts, space etc Plus it would be unlikely that the gearbox ECU would be interchangeable.
I'd suggest upgrading the clutch packs and a gearbox ECU tune.
Cheers
