Pretty much like the old Golf Mk5 GT. Has some of the looks and features of the GTI but less power and more efficient.

It's got a 1.4 turbo only engine making 103kW, so it sits right in the middle between the 77 and the GTI. It also has cylinder deactivation. I don't mind the look of it actually, kinda sporty but less showy just like my mates Golf GT.

Personally I think it is a great concept, but VERY poorly executed. They just mix-matched parts on ths model.. Spoiler and sideskirts is from a bluemotion, and front/rear bumpers from a GTI, no foglights, crappy interior, but WITH gti tacho..

And the cylinder deactivation still has to prove itself, to me it just sounds like another very fragile and expensive thing that can break

I wouldn't want a 1.2 diesel spoiler on the back of my GT-labeled car, price is still unknown but I won't trade mine in purely for the lazyness of VW with this car

    Pro... 6 speed MANUAL!

It's been around in one form or another for 3 decades.

I like the bright inserts in the doors etc... brightens the interior up. And the blue exterior colour is excellent.

I like it. 6spd manual is a bonus and the reason I will buy it over a DSG only GTI.

I will deactive the cylinder deactivation 1st chance I get with VCDS though. This 1.4T should be pretty tuneable as well.

This will likely be the next small car I buy. As in Polo GT.

Yes, but how successful was it? It gave a lot of problems on the big V8's, I'm curious to know how it will hold up in the 1.4..

I guess it all comes down to pricing for me. Very unlikely, but if the price + full leather interior (definately this one) + GTI front lower grille with foglights, comes out lower than a GTI I would concider buying it.. But even after that I would still have a major issue with the bluemotion spoiler on the back
