Angry Polo Capped Price Service INCREASE - 18% more for year 1!

I am not a happy VW owner today. The capped price service for our Polo has increased.

    Previous:
    $347
    $318
    $420
    $682
    $347
    $391

    Current:
    $423
    $423
    $484
    $655
    $423
    $530

    The 1st year is a 18% increase.

I have written a short email to VW to see how they respond. After having bought 2 new cars from the VAG Group (see my signature below for the cars we own) I don't appreciate this.

I was paying close to these prices when I drove a 2005 Mercedes Benz. My Audi 1st year service bill was around $500 (I didn't pay, corporate, but I saw the invoice).

I also encourage people write to VW. Their public website listed email contact is; volkswagenassist@volkswagen.com.au

Current looks cheaper than previous to me. Am I missing something?

I think what he's trying to say is that his car is being charged at the previous fee rate and not the current one?

It's like the whole problem in 2013 when people purchased VW Vehicles in early Jan but in order to have qualified for capped priced servicing you have to purchase the vehicle after the 31st of Jan, Volkswagen continue to shoot themselves in the foot.

VW replied. They are giving me a $100 disciunt service next time. They admitted the price increase and have offered me this one time discount.

Are you aware that one of the other manufacturers just copped a fine from the ACCC because they hiked up their capped price servicing when their marketing implied that the price wouldn't change.

Could be worth an email to the ACCC

They changed the name now, and in the terms etc it is revised yearly.

But as the OP bought his vehicle before they changed the name / terms of service he might wish to lead the protest.

I'm pretty happy with the $100 voucher at this stage.... may take it further in the future. If we keep it past 3 years I will be taking it to an indi anyways. Maybe sooner as it wont void warranty to get it serviced by an indi.
