You know, i never thought of it...but now that you mention it the TSI's turbo does wind up a fair bit which means it may be possible to put a Wastegate/BoV I might take a look into Apexi, HKS and see what i find

Let me know what you find too as i'm actually quite interested.
STZ automotive here in Northgate QLD seem to think its possible but the stock BOV is plumbed back, I'm dropping in this afternoon so they can have a look and see exactly what options are available.
I think it would sound pretty mean with a nice BOV tbh, or as you said, a wastegate.

I wish they make a BOV that sounded like a KAZOO that be awesome lol

    Seriously though..

What could you do to a TSI engine without pulling it apart/out etc?
Mapping and tune, Exhaust change over, maybe fiddle with the supercharger *for the gti people* as that should be on top of the engine, get a can of GOO and ditch the spare tyre (since VW give you road side assist for 3 years ) are some can think off top of my head.

    thought?

Also wonder what it would be like with a LPI system installed?
LPI should allow for further compresstion right? as a gas directly injected into an engine should cool more effectively than a liquid directly injected.

Also get LPG's higher octane boost as well and LPI offers they say only 5 to 10% drop in millage per 100ks but that more than offset buy LPG's price per litre.

Hmm but where would you put the tank? Roof racks? lol

50L Donut tank in the now empty tyre well, seeing as you just replaced it with goo

Dont Know if youd get what your after, as small engine on LP is usually not as efficient/effective as larger engines, octane in lpg is not that good being a propane /butane watered down mix rather than the straight propane high octane mix which we power our BBQ with, cos we so need high octane BBQ's

also expect LPG prices to rise as the (ex liberal) government implemented policy to add an excise (tax) to it and increase the price, you don't think they gave everyone a lpg rebate on conversions out of the kindness of there stone cold black heart did you PMSL

STick with a tune dont F%^K withit to much as it usally just a waste of dosh for not much more

I think you guys bought the wrong car if you wanna do all that stuff. I've always just bought the best thing I could afford and then left it for the most part but cosmetic stuff is easy and a good way of personalising if that is your thing. Performance mods are really just gonna cost a lot of money for fairly minor gains and ruin what is a great reliable and economical run about.

Hence why i am waiting for either the sport kit (VW variant) for it to be made by other companies as replicas or get the ABT rear, the front of the polo doesn't need work, only the back and ride height thats about it everything else has proven to be quite strong. Small cosmetics as you won't regain most of what you spent regardless upon resale.

Agree Hail and dave. The 77 TSI polo is great, as is the GTI if I can afford it

    Just was wondering.

The tune might be best way to get a boost. Im sure the Germans know best might be insteresting to get the VW supercharger for the 1.2 TSI Engine down the track after warrentyis used up, but that be but it.

Best to work on the outside as you say.

EDIT: sorry about the grammer. really need to re-read my posts
