Almost everthing to do with a car is a fashion statement.... If it wasn't we'd all be driving Lada's.

It seems to me that Hail22 likes to poo-poo anything that he doesn't have.... and decree that people who do have it 'live beyond their means'.

It's a sad, sad state of affairs.

I thought we were all supposed to talk about how much we loved our VW's.... Not how all the options we didn't tick when we ordered suck?

Kane, i think your a bit of a forum troll when it comes to me matey, i actually know and live with cars owned a BMW 323 Coupe with M sports Kit, Xenons, leather, sunroof etc. (2008 model)

At night time when going over the slightest of bumps or speed hump, the lights tended to flicker most of the time and sitting at lights where there was no street lighting the lights started to have colour variation.

So watch it before you take a stab in the dark, as i actually have owned a car with such options and hence why i wouldn't go near it anymore.

I am entitled to give my opinion/view of something especially when i have owned said option(s). So do me a favour stick to the topic or get lost as i remember i started this thread for mods not for public debating.

So you downgraded from a 2008 BMW coupe to a Comfortline Polo?

There is a difference in offering an opinion (which people usually respect and like) to dumping on everything one doesn't have. Your severe and noticable problem is (IMO) that if you don't have it, or have had it and don't have it now... It's not worth having.

I too have had a lot of vehicles.... But I don't need to tell everyone how their choices are crap/not as good as mine because frankly, to do so reeks of poverty.

Downgraded due to the fact that the car was paid off eventually to which i realised after i bought a car with many underlining problems such as Idrive system issues, software problems, enginge lag, oil gauge kept beeping low after they re-filled/reset the computer and the final straw was the fact the car was parked on the street and became a scratch plate for the garbage truck that came past each week to which my car had heavy passenger side damage (hence the smaller car, a lot more cheaper) until i find a place with an actual garage.

Living with a nice car is great until you realise living in a tight street can become a problem so the options for me became limited.

So i am within reason from my past to be annoyed with expensive cars as they lead to expensive problems, i wouldn't wish it on my enemy trust me.

Anyway, the same topic comes up with the Golf's from time to time and the answer is the same. Retrofitting Xenons isn't an easy nor cheap job and then you still have to maybe worry about not being RWC. Do a search over in the mk6 forum as corey has covered it before.
I don't hate them, just from experience i didn't really notice much except for the fact it looked cool...for 2.5k extra i would look at upgrades...wouldn't you?

I have driven the GTI its a nice car, neat package for me personally i didn't thoroughly enjoy it as much as when i drove the Golf GTI MK6, then again both cars are slightly different.

    Just my view.

or you could wait a few months as i know a few developers in NZ/Japan are making 6R light housings with LED surroundings

As time passes you will notice a lot of affordable modifications will arrive, always at the start is the expensive German products (which are sexy) and later on the replica makers etc will start to get a sniff of the money making potential thus there will be a market in the hopeful near future.

So don't stress its still early days in the 6R mods

Hail22 and Kane-St-Kane, can you please both play nice and keep on topic, else infractions will be handed out. I haven't read all 16 pages of this thread to see who said what and who started anything, but lets all just be a little more accepting of everyones varied (on topic) opinions.

    Cheers.

As said there options and can be ingored

EDIT: And thank Hails, ill reserve judgement untill I get some real time in both cars.

Must say being a big guy *waist wise* not much more of a squeeze then me getting into the ex's new 2010 Maxda 3. and the seat held my wide ASS well lol.
Love the boot it IS bigger than it appears *not the tardis i might add but maybe a smaller tardis for mini me* and love how the seat fold flat - er than any other small car.

can't wait till weekend grr 1 and half more days damn it.

    Extra question

i wonder if you can relocate the battery or get like a high performance Battery that's small enoguh so can move it to engine bay and reclaim the boot a bit and fit in a full spare on the gti.

be handy to have a full spare and also could reclaim some boot and get that false floor thing going on gti lol

Just a quick question from me.. took my mate for a drive today and he loved it, but was wondering if it was possible to fit a BOV? I couldnt answer him as I've never had a turbo car myself.
Would it interfere with or alter the computer in the car?
