man, seeing as you're in melbourne, you REALLY REALLY REALLY have to come to the next dub meet- here's my little pre-edit of what went down today:

such a strong VW vibe in melbourne, no matter what VW you drive. it was sick!!!!!!

now, as far as the 6R polo is concerned, the ''upgrade'' alloy wheels that you can get from VW are an offset of 45 if i recall correctly. depending on tyre size / width, that'd ''probably'' mean that you've got an offset of between +38 and +48 to play with. i'd confirm this with the dealer, though- or get someone to have a look at your wheel clearance over the brakes, and between the inside of the tyre and the suspension gear, before jumping into anything.

as for removing the TDI badge just because it has bigger / nicer wheels- NO NO NO NO NO!!!!

keep the tdi badge- it makes people look at you funny. once your car is remapped, it should have somewhere in the vicinity of 320nm at the fly, which is quite decent for a 1.6 in a car as light as the 6R polo. keep the punters guessing what the hell is going on when you've r*ped them in the twisties, i say.

im going the silly route- recenty, my "I" fell off, so im gonna debadge the rear, and get stickers such as "got soot?", "i 'heart' my tractor", and a silhouette of a turtle with "slow but safe" on it. meh- just a bit of fun, i guess.

as for the bluemotion spoiler, i dont know if many aftermarket companies will bother- even with the previous gen polo (mine, the 9n3), the only way you could get a bluemotion bit of kit was to hand your local dealer the part number. so from VW it must be (but i dont think it will be very hard- you will be able to source the part number on the south africa / europe / uk forums).

    keep dubbin, man!

to me, that's like having a poppy snowboard, that's super light yet super durable, spins well off the jumps, feels perfect underfoot etc etc...... but oh no, the graphic on the bottom just isnt quite one's cup of tea, lol. orly?

it might have enough go already for "what it is"- but what is that? to some, it's a city runabout and nothing more.

to me, it's a car that i can load 4 people into, load up the boot with snow stuff, stack 3 snowboards and a pair of skis onto the roof, and still have no problems overtaking single-occupant commodores up steep hills quite easily.

the diesel might get a bit more torque... with a tune, that's 300+nm..... enough to spank a VT commodore SS in the hills quite comfortably, whilst getting 750+km's (minimum) out of a tank.

dont get me wrong, i think the 1.2 TSI is a brilliant car and truth be told, it would be my car of choice from the current polo line up. but you cant deny the TDI's merits... i mean, there are plenty of people in the states, bolting on a turbo from the 2.0l tdi golf (NOT a big turbo), onto the 1.9tdi engine, and with injectors/ mapping, getting 480nm of torque (enough to spank quite a few cars, rolling start) and still returning 50+MPG....

    Thanks for the reply dude,

yeah I want to freak em out when they hear its a diesel sitting next to them not when they read it LOL

Love your comment I highlighted by the way, my thoughts exactly,

Wont be chipping it in the near future (warranty and missuses car) + the new dry clutch small model DSG has a max torque rating of 250NM could probably handle more being german built but hey I'm older and slower now and the missus don't need anymore LOL, the golf 77kw 250nm mapping would be enough, just want more fuel economy really, thats why i got the diesel and because smooth fast driving involves torque more than power

Yeah with the wheels Just want to set it off to look sh*t hot and a few other small items to spruce it up a bit but dont want to go over board, If anyone is removing there sport pack springs to lower it more give me a hoy or Pm as I'll be interested in them as thayll be low enough for the other half but not so low she'll rip the front off it LOL ( didnt get the sport pack originally as I'd still be waiting for the car now and we couldn't wait that long)

Any how better goto i'm tired dude

    Regards
