    Polo 6R TDI Exhaust

    Hey,

I have a 6r Polo TDI sports pack. The vehicle looks great except for the horrible exhaust tip at the back. I was going to take it in to a exhaust fabrication place to get them to put a straight through resonator in the back and put a nice little chrome dump tip at the back.

I was wondering if anyone has explored ideas with the 1.6 TDI exhausts etc.. I am hoping for a touch more noise and maybe some better response. I have also read about the DPF removal aswell, and was hoping I could get some more light on that idea aswell.

    Thanks

    Dan

You can forget about removing the DPF. Nobody touches them as it's highly illegal to remove them. A tune would also be required afterwards to remove fault codes and make sure the car runs properly.

Also I know a guy with a Golf103 TDI (2L) and has a straight pipe from the DPF (or resonator I forget) back and it doesn't sound any different at all. The only reason he did is was so he could get dual pipes (like the golf GTI) which you can't get with any diesel.

Or a genuine Audi 65mm one, even better again in my opinion.

I have a 2011 6R TDI and did the mufflerectomy. Replaced the rear muffler with straight pipe and chrome tip.
It made no difference at all in sound or performance. Just looks better with the new tip.
The muffler shop cut off the muffler and started the car and everyone was quite surprised that the sound did not change one bit. They even followed me out on to the street to see if the sound would change under heavy acceleration, which it didn't.
Volkswagen could have save some money by deleting the rear muffler.
Because of the Turbo, DPF filter and CAT there is no more sound left to be had.
