Hi, I think this is the right place for this - The manual of my new Polo 77 STI DSG (page 23/24) says the 'Multi Function Display' can show "Digital Oil Temperture Display". Page 22 says to open the menu, "Switch on ignition" then "If a message or vehicle pictogram is being dispayed, press the OK button"..... The operative word here is "IF" because mine doesn't. The dealer service manager couldn't help. Does anyone know how to get into the menu and select items to display. Besides getting oil temperature I'd like to unselect 'Speed Warning' as it's never going to get used!
Thanks Allegiance - I was hoping there is a crack or workaround for this - engine/oil temp is pretty basic....
Yeah I know, lack of oil temp sucks donkey balls.

Would buying a VCDS (Vagcom) cable allow you to change what is displaying - I am hoping because I want some to do some changes. Intend buying one when my Golf GTI arrives to keep the Polo company.

Don't think so, it's a basic MFD, not that advanced version in the GTI etc.

Thanks GTi Crow, now that I have found out what a "VCDS (Vagcom)" is, your post makes a lot of sense. Not something I'd buy and try myself and probably not something your friendly VW Dealer would do for you, but I wonder if there are independant VW specialists out there who apparently use these things can do, or have done this. Can't be rocket science if you know what you are doing...
If you don't have the pictogram in your dash then you may need to buy a whole new Highline cluster which wiill have the oil temp capability programmed into it. You have to have the correct cluster as per the manual page in the first post.

Thanks Graeme86, It seems there is no chance with my Polo's MFD type. Any suggestions for an 'add on' gauge? Analogue or digital?
