    I think you meant to say ceramic pads, which tend to have lighter-coloured dust compared to metallic or semi-metallic pads.

    They look like racing pads to me, which in general tend to be more aggressive in regards to wear, noise and dust.

    Remsas are great and well priced. You will be able to get a complete set (f+r) for around $200. Much less dust, less touchy, and no noises/squeaks etc. very happy with mine and i recommend them to everyone.

    Should of stated Ceramic, but was thinking of our track car diesel *lapse of thought* Carbon/Carbon for us is more viable (track) however extremely expensive to replace when cracked.

    I think OMP are quite good...but as diesel said...they will be more aggressive, and wear faster...if you like race squealing when braking you won't get that with an aggressive pad...instead it will be like a scourer on ceramic dish while cleaning...not so appealing

    Yeah, me too. Braking is one of those things that people like to look at last as an upgrade, for me, it was first

    One of th eguys in our office while still in canada used to moonlight as a photographer for different racing publications. One time he was photographing at a 24 hour race when a C5 Corvette came into view and a brake disc exploded just as he got his shots off, the images are amazing, it's th eentire sequence of seeing the discs start to glow more and more then bang!

    Ok, back semi on topic now. I can vouch for the Remsa pads, they are great as a street pad and in a 77tsi you won't be reaching the kinds of speeds that they start to fade at unless you're on a track. In Darwin. Anyone who has suffered brake fade will tell you that there is only one thing more scary, brake failure! So a good set of pads and some fresh fluid are a great modification to any car.

    No unfortunately. We had a bit of a fight over it at Berwick VW but to no avail.
    I personally wouldn't advise getting your brakes done at VW because they overcharge like mad.

    What was their rationale?

    If they don't cover it under warranty I certainly wont be letting them do it!

    Their rationale was that "brakes are wear-and-tear items and cannot be covered under warranty".
    Stupid really, I mean it makes sense that they don't just replace them for free when they're worn, but you'd think if they shuddered to the point of the steering wheel almost being ripped out of your hands whenever you braked that they might think something's actually wrong.

    (I had actually reported the shuddering to them a year ago at the previous service but they couldn't replicate it at the time - I'm sure they will be able to now!).
