Make that a Trendline.... (as per VW specs)!
I was more than happy to hand the keys back on this 77TSI DSG today after my GTI was serviced. The car itself, not so bad but that expensive bit called a 'DSG' was woeful.
Jerky / Hesitates / Travels in too high a gear for the speed (drops down 4 gears to actually accelerate) / Delay in it finding reverse.
Am happy to state, the DSG in the Scirocco R I drove was awesome....

Trendline is the red headed stepkid of the Polo range. Now you know why. Useless waste of vehicle registration.

I know it's just personal opinion, but I can see why they discontinued that colour... Ouch
I'm glad I've had none of the dsg issues in my 77tsi... Even with thrashing it around its still as smooth as the dsg6's I've used in the golf r/gti...

actually the 1.4 is already being replaced, the 90hp 1.2 TSI is available over here now, as replacement of the normal 1.4
The 1.4 Trendline is 63kW @ 5,000rpm of pure naturally aspirated ... well fail. It just feels underpowered and un finished. When I test drove one I was just waiting for the turbo to kick in and it take off... but it just never happened. Maybe it would be OK for your elderly grandmother to drive to bingo and back, but really the $3k premium is well worth it to move up to the 1.2L Turbo, 77TSI. Hell the more powerful engine uses almost 10% less fuel!
As for the colour, it's a love it or hate it affair. I actually ordered one but was caught as they discontinued it. I will say that they look much better in photo's than in real life, the ones I have seen look a little faded or dirty and not as bright and vibrant as the photo makes it look. In the end I got the Golf Cabriolet instead, so hardly a bad thing
