    Pedal cover set

    Hi all,

Interested in this supposedly VW genuine GTI pedal cover set for my manual TSI. Link as follows:
Original VW OEM Pedal Cover Set VW Polo V 6R ++ GTI R = RHD ! | eBay

They look great and appear to fit over the existing pedals (great!) however I am wondering if anyone has fitted them to their car? Just trying to get an idea of how they look, how chunky they are (things are fairly tight in the footwell for a manual as it is) and how they are fitted etc. Would look great with gavs potential TSI footrest plate!

    Thanks in advance!

    Pedal cover set

OEM hey, for the 6R GTI? GTI is dsg only so I don't think they're oem for a second. But, if it says that they for manual polo 6r's then they should be fine...

Hey Dan, I got mine recently (albeit for a DSG) and they fitted just fine.

I asked about them here in this thread: Aluminium Pedals Cover

You'll find a link on page 2 to an Audi A1 forum web site which describes these pedals (same as Polo 6R) and instructions for fitment.

For the manual, it simply involves removing the current rubber clutch and brake covers and replacing them with the aluminium ones. For the accelerator pedal, it just goes over the top of your current pedal - which doesn't have a cover. No chunk-iness there

Just be aware of LHD vs RHD parts.

    Hey Danny boy,
Iv got them pedals on mine with the footrest and it looks great. Heres a pic of mine.

There really easy to fit, just pull off the old rubber ones and new ones push on, and the footrest needs three holes drilled but its worth it lol.

If you're in need of any 6n1 parts, odds are that I am going to have them (dismantling 2 at the moment)

so would that essentially raise up the accellerator in comparison to the brake pedal making it easier to heel toe?

Well I went ahead and got the covers from my eBay link and it turns out the accelerator pedal is too small! I'm in the process of trying to sort it out, but the broken English from the seller isn't helping and it isn't looking hopeful. Sending them back is also going to be expensive, sigh. I've tried sourcing a cover direct from Audi here but they say they only come as a set of three and VW say the covers only exist in LHD manual (apparently they don't carry the GTI RHD pedal covers even for DSG??). D_train or Dan_85 would you be able to provide links from where you got yours?

    Hey Dan,

Sorry to hear that the one you bought didn't fit. These things happens.

I bought mine from Barloworld Five Dock, Sydney. I have a v.reliable contact there for parts there, so will PM you his details and see if he can help you out.

On the A1 forums, people were also getting theirs from here:

    Audi A1 Aluminium Pedal Caps/Covers | eBay

I've bought stuff from them for my Audi before so they are reputable.

And someone (scottBremner) from the UK was actually selling their set on the A1 forums - back in Nov12 though:

Thanks for you replay d_train, appreciated!! I think I'll try Barloworld first, if you got yours from there I should be right in securing just the accelerator (which is the same manual & DSG). I guess this serves as a warning for those with manual Comfortlines, to be careful with eBay listings even if claim they suit right hand drive.
