My car is 6C. Just over 2kg off each corner is probably correct when I measured on our digital bathroom scales. I also got around 1.6 kg per corner on a digital suitcase scale but that reading is likely wrong, it varies if the thing being weighed is not held very steady. Wrote the figures down but can't find them.

New wheels are 8.25" and the detroits are a heavier looking wheel than the 6Cs.

I just weighed a 6C wheel and I make it 10.3kg which further confirms all the above.

It was Optus' fault. Should've reminded you to stop at 4999.9kms.....

The tacho redline is different from my 81 TSI. The thicker part of the red starts at 6500rpm with it. The above pic looks a bit more like the redline mark on our Golf 90 TSI. The 81 TSI marking makes more sense as in both cars the rev cutout is 6500rpm.

Went for these wheels after considering much more expensive options, like you could not find anything with a good 'dish' look in required offsets. Had them on nearly 2 months and no problems at all. Fronts are ideal offset if you don't want rubbing, backs you could certainly go to 35 or use 10mm spacers maybe? 35mm offset at front and you will definitely get rubbing.
Seems like my current wheels didn't work out due to front brake clearance which I didn't account for so now I am back to the same wheel as you which I plan to order this week. Looks like they have them in gloss black now so I am going to get that finish as I have painted all the trim on mine gloss black.

Question, do you have after market suspension and how much space do you have between back of wheel and strut on those? Mate runs 8" +35 on the front with no issues but these are 8.25 and apparently I only have around "a finger" at most on the stock detroits. Was just worried about the wider rim and the backspace but it's possible that the extra width of the rim is in front of the hub, not the rear and will be fine. If you are running +38 without any hit then I guess anything with below that is going to clear fine?

Just need to drop it a bit at the front.

    Excellent job by Wheelworx

Hey dude, also did you get the black wheel lugs from wheelworx and extended or normal size? I just realized I am going to need to swap mine or it's going to look awful.

I do have KW coilovers but I reckon the physical external dimensions of the strut assembly will be the same as standard.

You are right the back of the front wheel is horribly close to this strut assembly, can't get my hand in through the wheel past the brake discs to feel and car is too low to get under it, maybe a finger. Back wheel clearance is almost 2 fingers. Photos are of front.

Forum member 'Raphii' has XXR530s fitted which are 8.25s with 35 offset with Eibach springs I think, think he has no clearance issues - you could message him.

I am fairly confident you will be OK with the same wheels as me on std struts etc or coilovers.

Yep you definitely need new wheel lugs, they should be supplied with the wheels. By the way I reckon the std Hustler caps look terrible and I can give you some tips on making up your own from plastic 'blanks' - message me with your email address if you are interested.
