Notice anything familiar in the images? I'd say thid guy has either done a dodgy and "permanently borrowed" them and is selling them or they are a dodgy copy.

that is for the light retro fit kit from kufatec. To be legal, you will also somehow need to get the full complement of headlight washer parts including:
    Second washer bottle motor
    (Suspected) Larger washer bottle
    washer bottle hoses
    washer units x2
    colourcoding of washer unit heads
BCM update (when the headlights are on, when you pull the stalk to wash the windscreen the first time then every 5th time after that with the lights on will wash the headlights) plus coding.

If you really, REALLY want the look of the xenons, then you could buy the kit and install halogen globes and i know you bought second hand, but realistically, it's not worth the effort to install the OEM xenons, spend the coin elsewhere like on a turbo-back exhaust or even a tune.
I would totally do without the washer, that's the biggest turn off and a daily wipe and clean each time I get home would serve the same purpose as using the washer if not better then just spraying little jets of water.

I understand this but in long terms and resell value, getting a tune doesn't always look good. Getting Xenon's will definitely payout (not entirely) more so then any other major engine modification changes. Don't get me wrong I would love to do a tune or at least have the option to switch between maps however Xenons in my eyes does the car more justice long term. Anything above a $1k price tag though is not what I wanna spend...

Might I add I feel aesthetically the car looks better and I kinda feel that I want to do myself justice by doing it... I still feel that buying this car wasn't my happiest choice as I'm still "In Love" with my previous car and only yesterday did I finally get the balls to post on carsales. So I continuously feel like I need to "pretty it up" so when I look at both cars in the morning I'm more happier with the Polo...although most mornings I'm drawn to my Teg!

    Sad I know...

If it rains a lot where you drive, I'd stick with halogens. The HIDs are cool tho and work better on clear nights.

I know where you're coming from RE looks, but a technically illegal retrofit of the xenon lights would probably do worse regarding resale than a reputable tune. Would you have gone for a polo GTI with factory fitted xenons an a Viezu/apr/DNA/GIAC tune in it or a big stock GTI without the xenons, if they were the same price (disregarding that the tunes are generally better for the car than the factory program)?

I get what your saying and either way the position I'm in I am not going to fork out all this money to get it installed. A tune is probably a much better way to spend my money. I just really wish there was an easier way but frankly it all comes down to money. If this was all cheap and easy I would probably opt for it. Maybe just wait and see...

I hear so many different stories about tuning and that so many companies can do it but how do I know which one is right and which one isn't way to expensive, some guy quoted me $1100.

Anywho this for another thread so wont start about tunes here!

All this talk of Xennons always makes me smile... I chose my car without them. Shock horror! LOL. The reason being, Im not convinced by the things. Ive had a lot of lights in my time and whilst the worst were sealed beams in a 1976 mini (in that car high beam didnt even upset oncoming traffic, they were like candles!), the best were probably my WRX with PIAA upgrades and the PIAA driving lights full on at night on country lanes, you could see for miles... Anyway, I digress... my current car has Xennons and I find them rubbish. Ok, maybe its me and my eyesight perhaps isnt what it was (hardly), but for spirited night driving I dont like the things, personally I think decent halogens can be fine, especially the modern ones. So, I would choose a tune over the lights every day of the week. Sure i like the look of the xennons, but eeek... 1600bucks for a few tenths of 'look' is just not for me, Id rather save the cash and spend it on upgrades... bear in mind tho, I even took that ethos to the limit and refused to pay for upgraded audio, BT/MDI tho I did spring for the comfort pack... in the end the other things were in the MY12.5-on spec anyway so ive got them, but not lights... no thanks... I'll keep the cash and the halogens.

(not everyone will agree with this post... but that's why most people didnt order a blue 3 door haha! )

Yeah, that's a fair point JonW but having driven at night with the xenons alongside my girlfriend whos Pug 207 has possibly the best halogen lights I have ever seen, you could quite clearly see much further up the road with my xenons on high beam vs her halogens. Whenever I drive a car with halogen lights now, I freak out because I can feel my eyes straining to see, things just aren't as clear. Interesting how you point out about your eyesight because Xenon lights are better for your eyes, reducing strain and fatigue due to the light being more natural and like daylight. I didn't get mine for looks, I got mine for the penetration of the light and on a long dark Calder highway, outside of sealake at night, kangaroos suddenly become much clearer, much further away but hey, that's just me

LOL, well I dont see many roos in the parts of Sydney I go to, drive bys, dodgy deals and all you can eat buffets all look better in sepia anyway

To be honest, on my current Honda the Xenons are so bad that you get eye strain driving it across country, but maybe its a honda thing... Im sure if you spend 1600 (or whatever it is) on Xenons that they are great, I just dont see (sic) the value... but as i said, I am a bit different to most

Is the OP concerned with the lighting performance or is he/she just after the looks of a Xenon setup?
