Yes Germany also has a 3-door Golf GTI, Golf R, A3, and S3. None of which we get now :\

Thought they were using a different engine? One would hope they have the oil consumption issue dealt with if they carry over the existing GTI engine.

    Thought I'd add my 2c.

I can't wait for the new one to be honest, having test driven the current 6R Polo GTI only yesterday, I can comfortably say I don't think it needs any more power. The new differential would be interesting as I did notice torque steer and the ESP warning light when putting down the power coming out of the corners.

AutoCar and a number of other sources say the power output will be bumped from 132 to 141kw and that it will be released with a 6 speed manual transmission version that should lower the RRP by $2500.

It means diddly squat except that it means that they do exist and therefore could come here if there is a will and assuming there are some in RHD. I only see 2 cars losing sales due to a 2dr gti. The 4dr gti and the festiva. Is that a problem?

I'd love a scirocco but I struggle to see how it can make financial sense to VW and a 2 door gti does not, and a 2 door trendline even more so. Chances arent high but I'm hoping.

It probably needs a couple of extra peak kW/Nm to keep pace with the current car. It will probably lose a few at the bottom end without the supercharger.

If the power increase comes from the same 1.4 twincharger through software change only, I wonder if it would be available to the rest of us as a 'warranty friendly' factory upgrade?
