Everywhere you search there is mixed opinions on what VW will do so really until it's officially announced its a matter of "he said, she said". I just hope the Polo R makes can make it to Australia

Given the twin-charger has been dropped from the Golf 7 line-up, I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say it'll be dropped from the Polo too.

I know the 1.8 has been touted around but I'm tipping a tuned version of the 1.4 TSI found in the Golf Highline.

    That's a very tuned 1.4L - 140kw +from 1.4L is unusual for a production hot hatch.

Unusuall, but given the current 1.4 puts out 130 something (and 140 something with a tune), it's not that much of a stretch.

Sure the current one is twin-charged but the supercharger really only adds mid range, not outright power.

The trick will be getting a 1.4 turbo not to produce the power to make it drivable (not laggy) and reliable.

Of course I could be wrong. Hey, there is a first time for everything

That does look sort of tasty... what sort of power can they make when tuned?
