    What the?
Not creeping the car forwards or backwards would sure make it difficult to do things like reverse parallel park or just drive in city traffic.
How many people leave a 3 car gap at the traffic lights anyway?
Never had a problem with clutches in manuals before driving like this.

Lets leave the driving lesson out of the forum and focus on the problem please.

What I mean is don't just ease off the brake and let it creep with the brake on lightly as the clutches don't fully engage and slip. Some even hold them on the accelerator on a hill like a normal auto. Not good
The way you drive it could perhaps contribute to the problem but as you dont want any advice I will butt out.

When I stop I don't move until I have room to move by fully releasing the brake and never drift up by lightening the brake and allowing it to creep up.
Havent had any trouble with clutches either and I own two of them

Yea and a manual doesn't slip In first and second whilst taking of like a DSG does. In a manual you can control the slip and engagement but the DSG keeps slipping till it's going so its smooth. All he's saying is don't drive forward for the sake of 10cm wait untill the traffics flowing then move. When your reversing/parking your moving at more then 1km/hr and its one movement (if you know what your doing) not on, off, on, off. Driving a DSG is different to both a manual and slushbox if you want it to last. Not a driving lesson just fact.

It was a few cars gap on a short green arrow. It wasn't just 10cm. The accelerator was used.

I'll be sure to not try and park a car with DSG anywhere there is a car in front or behind from now on as the clutch isn't designed for that. Hmmm.

ABS kicking in at low speed isn't a driving technique. If it is could someone please tell me how to replicate it so I can show the VW 'service foreman' next week.

Mine has kicked in a couple of times at low speed each time I was slightly turning as I stopped and the road was broken and the base was loose. Understandable in the circumstances. Felt like it was just the front right.

    "Exactly"
I'm sorry but what the hell are you going on about here?!?! I was backing YOU up by pointing out and reiterating that contrary to what someone else was trying to insinuate, it had nothing to do with you tiding the pedals.

Point 2, don't go slagging off to one of the very few who campaigned for 12 months to get this bloody recall instated when others were happy stick their heads in the sand and who is still campaigning for others that are still having issues (like yourself) to also get some form of justice rather than the typical spoon-fed crap from VGA at my own expense.

3rd, for those who (rightly) say that the car is not an automatic and that you should drive it differently, I agree. BUT! Show me where it says in any material, provided to the customer or media explaining in fine detail how the car has to be driven that differs from a torque converter auto or DQ250 dsg even and I will accept that but until that time, remember that any car sold with 2 pedals and a lever that you put in a selector that makes the car change gears up and down by itself, irrespective of how it operates is still classed as an automatic. Footnote to that, why should an owner of a golf 118tsi have to drive their dsg equipped car differently to a golf GTI owner, just because some engineer can't do their job properly?

Finally, think of this as my last piece of advice for you.
Re-read what I wrote for you earlier and present that to your insurance company and the dealership you bought the car from. I sincerely hope it works out for you.
