I like this option...I may as well chip the ECU too to get better fuel consumption too right?

Unfortunately, to get this solved you have 2 solutions. 1) drive in M all the time but this doesn't overcome clamp-force problems or 2) pay for a dsg tune which alters the shift points in D and S and provides better clamp force through the early stages o the rev range to stop clutch slip, hence prolonging clutch life
Probably worth mentioning that if you fiddle with the DSG tune - even if WE know it will improve things - it will make it harder to make a claim for any DSG issues under warranty...

    It's a Catch-22!

Does anyone find their car has noisy door/window rubbers? Perhaps I'm being extremely pedantic (quite possible) but I find if I'm going over driveway enterances or very slow speed, bumpy corners I find the window or door seals are a little creaky. Mainly seems to happen with the fronts. You can replicate the noise if you push on the top part of your rubber window seal. Does anyone else have this issue?

Yeah I think lots of people have that problem.
Both of my cars do it – I first tried greasing the seals but that didn't really work so I tried a wet, soapy sponge and scrubbed those felt seals at the top of the doors and where they touch under the roof.
That has seemed to work, but it's starting to come back now.
I've also heard of some people stopping this for good by buying some 6mm tubing and feeding it between the two felt seals at the top, but I've not tried it so who knows if it works.

Wetting the felt actually seemed to have work for now. Wonder how long it will last though, ahh well thanks for the tip Alex!

I've had this issue with our Polo GTi too (noisy door rubber seals). The dealer won't (can't) do anything about it. Their solution was the polish the door frame and use some VW lube stuff that's supposed to stop the noises (at $30 for 50ml bottle mind you), which it did for about 4 days. I've temporarily fixed it by just spraying some Silicon spray (pick it up at Repco or similar for about $5) on all the door rubbers and the felt at the top of the door.

I'd be VERY interested in a more permanent solution to this issue though. Any more tips on what this, "Gummi pfledge" is? Or the process for inserting the tubing into the seals?

    Cheers,

    Brett.
