The way the door closes prevents pulling the bonnet release lever

Not sure if its a known issue or even an issue but I found a lovely little glitch with either the DSG or the TCS while in the wet trying to get in front of a truck this morning.
Apparently if the wheels are spinning or the TCS is working the DSG doesn't like up shifting so it leaves you over-revving the engine like a twat while trying to get in front of someone.

    Annoying as F$%@

Haha lol I find I get the complete opposite. If my wheels spin (or I go over uneven road) the DSG will very quickly and stupidly downshift to the lowest gear ratio possible, which in the exact same way leaves me powerless at about 1100rpm before it decides oh I'm going to stall and kicks back 2 gears...

I can see why it is doing it, to reduce torque and thus regain traction but its just so meh in how it does it :p

    Ahhh that sucks!
I should have clarified though, I always drive in manual mode. So im pumping the upshifter and nothing is happening. It refuses to shift.

Ahh yeah that could be it. I guess it doent want you to spin the wheels faster so it expects you to let off the throttle. One way to get around this is turn off the ESP/traction control (button on the top centre console).

I usually drive in D, to drive in M is too much of a pain, my DSG is temperamental as it is... XD

So your wheels are spinning, it's wet and you're trying to get in front of a truck? I fear for you my friend...

I'm more competent than most about driving in any conditions, there are some situations you need the throttle just as much as you often need the brake. This morning was one of those times.

@ Nomad - Cheers, I might test this without the TCS on.

Maybe wrong thread Should be in the "What kind of Hoon are you"

If you are trying to pass a truck and spinning wheels in the wet you maybe have a false sense of what good driving entails.
