    Where to start....

My car has less than 4000km on the clock....

-loose 'nut' under the drivers side carpet that rolled forward and back when accel or braking.
-the usual vibration/rattle from the dash which resulted in the dash being removed and the cause found to be a loose dash mount.
-when the dash was removed they buggered up the rear cup holder which needed a part from Germany to fix and another visit to the service centre.
-squeak from front left when accel requiring part from Germany to fix (still waiting).
-noticeable 'buzz' coming from the radio, anyone else experience this?
-annoying noise now coming from the dash and drivers door akin to rubber seal on metal movement when hitting bumps in the road, being a stiff ride this happens quite a lot.
-added approx 4L of oil myself plus what the service centre added when it was last in. I did ask to it be topped up but cant be certain this was done. Rather expensive process seeing as the oil is not cheap.

To me, VW were so close to making this car great but then it seems they just got lazy and didnt finish off the job properly. I really like the car but these annoying little issues are starting to irk me. Hopefully with its 4th visit to the service centre they can fix all these issues and make me happy again.

Still is a hoot to drive though.

    Cheers,
    Stirl.

Just picked my car up from the dealer and good news is, both problems appear to have been addressed. The oil temp gauge is now working. The fix on the invoice says "Readapted oil temp sensor".
The rattle from the dash is also gone and I'm hoping it stays gone. 20 minute drive back and it didn't happen even under hard acceleration. Invoice says "Adjusted speaker bracket for exhaust system". I asked them about it and he said my suspicions were correct, the sound actuator was loose in the mount which I believe is what a few others have experienced. Apparently they fixed two cars with this problem today. Nice quality control VW.
Fairly happy with the result though. As long as that rattle stays dead I can enjoy my car again.

Im not trying to stir the pot, but are there any cars at all based in NSW that never develop squeaks and rattles over time? Our roads are terrible. My previous Mazda 2 body felt like it had done 600,000 km after only 60,000. And I remember taking delivery of my Mum's Yaris 6 years ago and being in awe at the body which seemed to be bullet proof. But after 28,000 km it too now feels very second hand. It is a pity to think that my one month old Polo which is devoid of any squeaks and rattles is destined to suffer the same fate. It's present level of quietness is one of its best points and a major reason behind buying it in the first place.

But I am genuinely interested to know if there are cars out there that never develop these issues over NSW roads. I am so impressed with my Polo I am thinking of upgrading to an Audi A3 or whatever its equivalent is next time around. Would these be better?

Mate, yeah spend your cash on an overpriced golf! They are all the same. If you are that worried about it, you can only really look at a 4x4.

    Preliminary diagnosis!
Control valve 3, N435 failure which actuates clutch K1, aka odd gears clutch. Resulting in, new mechatronics unit.

Don't even think about sports kits, dropping or stiffening it or fitting wider/lower tyres.

Maybe even downsize to 14" rims.

Has anyone got the proper integrated bluetooth (dealer fit accessory) installed with the RCD-510? Have you had any problems with it not working (e.g. completing dying and not being recognised at all)?

Mine has stopped working for the 3rd time (within 11 months) and I've told the dealer I want it replaced and he's come back saying that it's not VW policy to just replace the unit.

Most likely another lie, but I'm stuck in a tough situation because it was a dealer fit accessory and I have to go back to them to get it fixed.
