Me too,
Returned from the dealer and the rattle would not replicate itself. The more I think about it, it is a cold morning rattle. When the car and plastics heat up the rattle goes.
The dealer said that VW won't honor rattles after cars have more than 7k on them, which means if you have a rattle or squeak don't wait till your first service...

Going to have attempt number 3 at getting my "rattle" fixed this week hopefully. It's persistent now and happens without fail every time at idle.
In addition got 2 new problems:
- Rain sensing wipers not working at all (as soon as put on auto they just turn on, tried cleaning the sensor and does nothing)
- Water getting in to the door/hatch of the boot. Can clearly hear water sloshing around when I open the boot door and it kind of dribbles out of a few spots when opened...
POLO 77TSI DSG 5D - MY11 - REFLEX SILVER - COMFORT PACK
Engine - K&N Air Filter (e-2997)
AV - Rockford Fosgate T1652-S , T1652 and P3L-S12 Sub. Alpine MRP-F600 and Alpine MRP-M500, Dynamat
Planned - lots, but the "financial manager" says NO
Had rattles ages ago, it was fixed with a bracket system.
Now some people will say there is rattling going on when applying your foot down for power to get a lower gear in the DSG, and also when going over speed bumps Do not fret!!! it isn't a problem...it's actually the gearbox searching for the appropriate gear (happens at slower speed)
I was told this happens in the 118TSI DSG aswell (Chatswood Service dept) I don't understand why it would make this sound but the rattling in the engine bay has stopped since the new bracket installation.
If your under warranty, request for a fuel line and A/C bracket update they will need the car for a few hours to install said bracketing.
Ever since i did this in Feb i have had no rattling what so ever.
If i can get a clear shot i will take a photo to show you what it looks like in a stock TSI engine bay, and the revised change with bracketing system.
Gotta love the lies that come out of these dealerships don't youThe dealer said that VW won't honor rattles after cars have more than 7k on them, which means if you have a rattle or squeak don't wait till your first service...
"I'm sorry sir, your driver's chair has completely collapsed and is rattling now, but because the car has travelled only 7000 out of the 100,000km warranty, we won't fix it because it has caused a rattle..."
You know what, it amazes me the amount of sheer and utter bulls*it that just Polo buyers are being told, imagine the full amount of crap that comes out of the mouths of VW employees to all other model owners and buyers.

Hey mate, with the rain sensing wipers, it should be a coding issue where it hasnt been enabled on the car. Pretty simple to fix but needs to be booked in, they just plug the car in, check to see if the box is ticked, if its not, tick it, done. Theres been a couple of others on here with the same problem (myself included)
Not to sure about the water in the boot issue... quite curious about this one, will have to have a look at mine. I read somewhere that someone got this when they installed the reversing camera\boot opener in, something about it not sealing up the same but thats a different issue. Hope this one gets saughted out for ya.

As far as I know, VW won't cover rattles unless they can be rectified by component replacement, or there is a known (VW-documented) repair. The dealership would normally foot the bill, unless the warranty clerk is of the creative type.
Most rattles are caused by other influences such as accessory-fitting, owner-abuse, and errant coins, etc.
