The chirp only applies to twin-charged cars.

I prefer to call it 'higher-than-normal' oil consumption. It could apply to any car, based on how it's driven, although there have been isolated cases in regards to Polo GTIs, that suggest otherwise. Either way, expect to top it up at least once in the first 15,000klms, as everything beds in on the initial running-in oil.

The A/C pipe vibrating on the chassis rail is one you've missed, but I can't remember which engine it applies to, as I've not had to fix one for a while. Pretty sure it was the 77TSI.

77TSI with DSG, stalling and erratic idle - I believe this has been rectified at the production plant, with revised ECU software, which we were uploading into earlier cars.

Another, was the rain-sensing wipers not sensing rain. Someone forgot to tick that box when they coded the BCM at the factory, but this can be easily rectified at the dealership.

OK then seeing as I have a manual 77 TSI and I didn't tick the Comfort options box, my only concern may be the A/C pipes banging on the chassis which is most likely being fixed at the factory now...Sweet! Plus the usual rattles that every new car has from loosened clips in transport etc

    thanks guys

OK, I have travelled nearly 850Km without babying my beasty and the oil level is still at just below full. Have been using D and S modes...mostly S though. Once warm, treat her like a b!@tch

Just picked up my CW Polo GTi and can (unfortunately) confirm I have the fuel-brake-a/c line rattle. Also noticed my front fogs don't do static cornering and the dash is not lit unless you turn on your head lights - but not quite sure if they are problems. Would be grateful is someone could confirm. Cheers.

Hey saabby, firstly, congrates on your new ride and joining our forum Touch wood, I don't have any rattles or noises yet. Static cornering lights should come on temporarily when entering a corner AND when the lights are ON...they are NOT the fog lights, they are part of the main headlight assembly, just next to the Bi Xenon light. This is all assuming you have Bi Xenons? Dash lights come on when lights are on (I believe?) have you checked the dash illumination adjuster dial (just below the rotary light switch). Hope this helps

dash lights up as outside light diminishes - I have noticed the red pointers are iluminated and change intensity when going through tunnels etc. Doesnt matter what position the light switch is in.

Dash should be permanantly illuminated, linked into the DRL function of the lights. What GTI Joe said in regards to the static cornering lights

    Thanks Guys.
As I don't have LED but I'll check for the static cornering lights within the main light cluster with the lights and indicator on.
But it would appear that a trip to Chatswood Classic needs to be arranged to resolve at least the dash illumination as only the red needles are lit in tunnels when on DRL mode.
Trust they would be happy to do warranty work on cars from other dealers.

If you don't have LED's (DRL's) then you don't have Xenons or static cornering lights.

As far as I know you only get static corning lights with the Xenon option that also comes with DRL's.

For Joe/Gavs, my dash doesn't illumintae with the DRL's just on - only when I turn the main light switch to parkers or full. From what you said Joes this sounds to be the same as you, but Gav's it seems yours is different. Can you please confirm?

Also, goes anyone know whether the central locking can be programmed to autolock once you drive off?

No matter what setting my lights are on...the dash is illuminated full time.
