Do not get your car serviced from VW Moorabbin.
Hi Allegiance, We are having a stalling problem with our car also, it has happened about 6 times so far. The first few times it stalled when stopping but the past few times when driving. This is my wifes car and she said the dash lights came on whilst driving and then the car stalled. I spoke to Barloworld in Botany and they have seen this on a number of Polos and they have a software upload fix for it. Ours is booked in to fix later this month, I will let you know how it goes.

My air con packed up 3 weeks after delivery and they had to replace the compressor, all is fine now!

After a few days of testing at the dealer they figured out the sound was coming out of the compressor, it's now replaced and all is fine too.

Disappointing for a new car though.

Yeah, it is but the way I look at it so I won't get upset if something goes bung, It's a mechanical component and all mechanical components will at some stage, fail. Out of the tens of thousands out there, if there is a fault rate of under 2%, most companies see that as acceptable and if it's from an external supplier, bar paying a technician to replace it, they will recoup their looses so it's in both parties best interests.

That being said, hopefully it's the last issue!

Well, this is the thing with new cars. Like any tech device (which cars are nowadays), it's always wise to wait at least 6 months after release for all the bugs to be wiped out.

We have to accept that the majority of cars are made on a production line and the law of averages is that you are, at some point, going to have a defective part. The more cars you manufacture the more chance of higher failures. I believe VWG make over 400,000 units per year so I guess there must be a certain amount of defects that come off the production line, even though their QC is better than most other vehicle manufacturers. That's why they have warranty

How are you guys? Just found this site by fluke and i must say it has been helpful.

I recieved my Gti Polo 4 weeks ago and have taken it back twice already.I was given this car with a scracth which i didnt mind because they fixed it and there has been a strange rattle on the passenger side. Kind of sounds as if something is loose.
They say that it is ok and they couldnt find anything.
Now last friday the car stopped on me and we came to realise that there was no Oil in the engine!!! Now i refuse to accept this car back as i believe there could be internal damage in the engine? Would it be fair to say that there could be??
Also when i received the car they had not removed the plastic bags from the engine and turbo!!! And i was driving this car for 2 days before we realised it.

My question is how would i know if there is damage on the engine also has anyone had issues with rattles?? It only rattles while i am doing 5-10 km
