Well i won't be taking my car to them next time then.

Nepean got me for this... I asked for a ROTATION, and somehow the service advisor translated that into a rotation and alignment.

Apparently the adjusted the "toe" of the tyres so we actually did the work they told me. To which i said, yeah, i didn't ask for it to be done....

From now on, i'm just going to ask for a logbook service. Not a single extra thing

Apart from oil consumption issue thread stuff my new polo gti (2013) has a weird problem where sometimes the washer fluid sprays everywhere but onto the windows when I activate it to clean the windscreen. It's like it has the wrong amount of pressure and it just spurts out all over the bonnet. Not blocked at all have checked and all topped up, just weird. On the topic of windscreen wipers I have also noticed the left wiper doesn't run across the glass smoothly it shudders across. Also not the quality I expect from this new car.

Adjusting the toe is the only alignment that they can do. You should be happy they did adjust it if it was out, you might have just gotten another 5000kms out of your tyres....

Adjusting the toe is the only wheel alignment they can properley do on the car so technically, they did do an alignment based on what was available to them. Be happy though, by them correcting the toe, they just might have given you an extra 5000kms out of your tyres...

This thread now is so long its become practically useless ....

I'm about to buy a Polo for my daughter to replace the Mk4 and am interested in what we can expect to go wrong (in a big way ie engine failure) and what can be done to prevent it. Have seen a few posts about 1.2TSI engine failures

Looking at 2010-2012 Polo TSI manuals or newer 1.4 5 door Polo manuals only.

RE the 1.4 Polos, how hard would it be to retrofit MF Steerning wheel and BT?

Polo GTI MY12.5 - 14,000km at the moment.
4 times in for Cylinder 4 misfire + excessive soot + oil burning
1 time for engine rebuild due to excessive oil burning and misfires
End of last year had check engine light for brake pressure sensor, NRMA cleared it and went away.
Now getting check engine, I will get home at 6pm and call NRMA to check the error.
VW Barloworld say they cant even look at it for a few days because they are 'booked out' and no loan car for 'months'....

Depressing.
