Yer, pretty common with DSG across VW. Jerky during stop-start

Perhaps giving the ECU a bit longer to learn your driving styles might help??

I think that may be part of the problem as well. Because of all the mods I have been doing with the audio system, I am constantly leaving the battery disconnected over night or for several hours at a time. So I am probably resetting the ECU's learning ability.

Speaking of which... How did your new stereo turn out?

Any interest in putting a subwoofer in it??? Or upgrade the speakers???

I really want to know, and you seem like the person to ask

Because you know, they are more important in upgrading the sound quality in my opinion...

It turned out really well. I have put Hertz HSK-165's in the front. I am waiting until I get a bit more money to replace the rears. I have also put an Audison SRx2 Amplifier in (I will post some pics on the weekend). I am loving the functionality over the RCD-310. With the amount of mid-bass I get from the Hertz speakers, I don't really feel the need to put a sub in at the moment.

It only seems to do it once the engine is warm, but not definite on that, as I only drive lightly until the engine is warm. It's annoying but not to concerned, it's under warranty and is booked in again for them to fix it.

    Cheers - Craig

So a while ago, I got the rattle fixed. It was the fuel lines on the chassis I believe from memory (not quite 100% sure anymore as it was a while ago).

    Now for a new problem...

For the last couple of months on cold start up, the car idles rough. Once the engine is warm - in about 5 mins - it's fine again.

Car went to the dealership on on Monday for it to be looked at - had been booked in for over a week. When I booked it in they asked me what it needed checking and told them this. Girlfriend drives all the way down there for them to tell her that the only way they can look for this is to keep the car overnight and can't do it now!!! They could have told us that when I first booked it in! Not happy...

Hi Craig - I had the same problem in my Polo. Just occasionally idling rough on or shortly after starting it from cold. Took it to my dealer and they did an update on the ECU software. This was just over a week ago and so far I haven't noticed the problem again. They didn't keep it overnight either - picked it up same day.

    Problem with the antenna.
It is too long and will damage the roof if caught in reverse on something like a branch or roller door not lifted high enough.

This one, on 2 months new Polo, was caught on the roller door.

I would advise anyone to get the Sharan Antenna,i have had it on my car for about a month now and nothing but pleased...did a drive to Bowral and had smooth/clean reception the entire time on FM radio

AM Stations are solid inside Sydney i have noticed in most cars even new they crackle on AM stations but so far so good *Fingers crossed*

Whilst away on a weekend holiday with the girlfrient the oil light came on solid yellow. Checked the oil and was at the lower end of range on the dipstick. Checked the book and the VW oil reccomendation is a code unique to VW and didntreally give me a 5w30 type ID so i could top it up so left it where it was and drove home.

Took it to the dealer yesterday and they said it was down about 300mls with the explanation that 300mls in 4000km (since its 1000km service) wasnt unexpected due to finer engine tolerances and higher emission standards!???!. This set off the bull**** detector, as we have not noticed a cloud of smoke behind us at any point that would fit with 300mls of oil usage! And no modern car would pass emission standards like that! Sounds to me more like the apprentice didnt put enough oil in last service!!!

    Any thoughts?
