The 1st new engine they gave me when they turned it on struggled to start and had piston slapping and valve timing issues. fun times.
What was wrong with the original engine? How long had you had the car before all this came up?

Missus 77TSI had the engine bay rattle fixed a while back (did take a 2nd dealer to do it because Essendon VW are the most usless ****wits in the history of dealers) and thinking the car would be ok....but no.

@20k she gets and EPC fault on the dash. VCDS shows up this:
11825 - Charge Pressure Control Actuator: Mechanical Malfunction
    P334B 00 [032] - Upper Limit Exceeded

Google search says stuff about replacing turbos lol but we'll see what the dealer comes up with. No idea who said VW's were reliable and well built.... I've been back to the dealer more times for my 2 cars in the 12mths than I'd have liked.

Yeah, VW hasn't been reliable since some short Austrian dude with a funny moustache was calling the shots!

Wastegate actuator mate, guy in the UK had exactly the same issue. They just replaced the whole turbo and re-coded the car with a software update (pisses me off that they wait until you ask at the dealerships for it to happen at a service!) which stops the wastegate from operating at idle speeds which causes a rattle in teh wastgeate mechanism or some hoo-ha.

Just build it right in the first place, just like the oil issues and supercharger clutches on the 1.4tsi motor.....

Does anybody's window wipers 'click' everytime they swipe on and off? Happens in the intermittent mode. Noticed it when I drove with the radio off.

Yeah, it's the relay that controls them that clicks. Should click at the initial movement of the wipe.

I went on the motorway today and the steering wheel started to shake alot when i reached the 110 speed limit.

Would this need a wheel alignment or a wheel balance?

And if i get it fixed at Bob Janes would it void warranty?

Anyone know how to remove the floor mats in a polo GTi? They seem to be pinned to the floor.

There's a couple of plastic "nipples"(for want of a better word!) in the carpet back towards the driver's seat, it's not locked into those is it?

I'm only guessing as I went with cheap non-VW mats, but surely if you give it a good yank straight up near each of the nipples (maybe with one hand holding the carpet down) it should come off? Of course, if you do this and damage the carpet or mat I accept no responsibility LOL
