Anyways as of last Thursday they are still not sure what the problem is and have been sending diagnostics to VW. Unfortunately for me they have also been in the process of moving their service centre to the new dedicated VW/Skoda facility so I can't be sure how much effort is being put into my car. They do say they have been waiting for the IT lads to setup the new server in the centre in order to run further diagnostics, but the errors identified so far have pointed to a possible faulty fuel pump.

Now we have the long weekend so my initial excitement of receiving the car only 9 days after being loaded off the ship in Fremantle has gone and I have now been without it for over a week (having only had it for 24 hours).

I really hope I haven't received a dud Polo. Hopefully it is just a small problem that can be fixed and not affect the car in the future..
Hope it gets fixed quick. This is NOT GOOD ENOUGH for a new car.

Show's that it's probably best to wait a least 6 months before jumping on a new car.

Sorry to hear the bad news guys, hopefully they will iron out all these problems in the near future. VW really need to improve their quality control in their production plants in South Africa and Spain

My mirror toggle switch is stuffed

Still works, but as you turn it to select other mirror it will get stuck and need to apply some force to get it going again

    Yep

All good, got car back today. Originally I was told the fuel pump was replaced but today they said it was just a faulty connector to the fuel pump. So 10 days without it and that's all it was. But to be fair it was during a service move and long easter weekend.

    Hopefully no further troubles...

    Cheers for the support fellas

Bad news. The passenger side floor flooded. Couldn't isolate where the water was coming from. Brought it to VW in Port Macquarie as I was driving from Byron Bay to Sydney. Weather was terrible but as it was a Saturday the service department was closed but the salesman called one of the mechanics.

Apparently there is a flaw with the sealing of the windscreen on some of the new Polos. Great news eh? The car stinks of wet socks now. Not at all happy. Barlowworld watch out. Unhappy customer dialing your number at 7.30 on Monday morning.

Eeeek, that's gotta be new rugs too then. Not heard / read about any other water / windscreen issues. Been in the rain and car wash twice with mine. Good luck Monday.

What's more disappointing is that the salesman said there had been a number of cars returned with the same problem. Any advice what I should be asking for when I talk to them? Hard line? New carpet? Courtesy car? Compensation for the two towels used? New floor mat anywa.... Let me know your thoughts.

I hope it doesn't start happening. I've had the car almost one year and this has just happened. Washed multiple times etc.
