I have been searching through the forums and found a topic for the MK6 GTI where people have a similar issue. This is a statement released by VW about that car:

Technical product information Transaction No.: 2021062/1
Rattling noises from engine/exhaust system Release date: 10-Jul-2009

    Customer statement / workshop findings

Rattling or jarring noise from the engine compartment / exhaust system when accelerating between 2400 and 3000 rpm .

    Technical background

Waste gate adjustment rod of the turbo charger rattles when accelerating.

    Production change

    ---

    Measure

Do not repair, the noises are construction-related and normal. There is no parts damage.

    Warranty accounting instructions

This is no fault in the sense of warranty.
Maybe it's not really much of an issue?

maybe is because of all the piping in the engine area, which are very close toward the front of the panel, I found it strange design.. and a gap between the windscreen and actual engine.

I noticed strange noise when turning at slow speed to the right, and its sound like rattling.

Overall Im happy with the car and i just need to tint it., but ur sports pack is perfect, with tinted window already.

How do u find the sports pack susspension, is it much better than normal susspension? how much firmer? is just spring not shock rit?

The sports suspension is quite a bit firmer. I only drove the 1.2TSI without the sports pack for about 15 minutes over a month ago so it's hard to remember much else

Wastegate adjustment rod rattling is not a concern!?

What happens if the rod falls off? Pretty much the boost will be over the tuned pressure will it not?

I will be sure to seek this sound if I hear it on my Polo when I get it.

If it is the problem and VW have the same recommendation for our cars as they do for the GTI, then if/when it falls off it's their problem.

the rattling from the front right engine bay under load which if you have you will defiently know about it. very loud vibrating noise has been found to be the aircon pipes vibrating and rubbing on the body down near the a/c compressor there is a tech bulletin for this but has not been released yet the fix is to bend the pipe away from the body a good 5mm book in with your nearest vw dealer hope this settles some peoples minds as the rattle is very severe

At the risk of offending the author, I'd like to state that punctuation would make this post a lot easier to read, as there is no capitalisation at the start of new sentences, and only one full stop used throughout.

I have called Ferntree Gully, South Yarra, Glen Waverley and Moorabbin today and spoke to the service departments and not a single one said that they had that issue reported to them.
