    This makes more sense!

After 12 months of smooth sailing (after engine rebuild), I think my next issue has started to show its face.

I feel that I am getting a lot of clutch slippage during take off. This feeling is exaggerated when the car pulling a heavy load (5 people) and in sports mode. Launching from the lights, first gear just rides the clutch and doesn't fully engage for quite some time.

The 'riding clutch' feeling also appears with light loads, and sometimes happening when trying to accelerate during turns from a slow speed in second gear (bloody scary when taking smaller gaps in traffic). It is only happening occasionally at the moment, but I fear things will only get worse.

I read previously (but cant find it now) there was a trick to test the clutch packs on the 6R. Something like going slow in second gear, do a full lock turn and accelerate. If someone could give me some tests to do, that would be great.

I can't recall who wrote it but I made a note of it (see below)
    How to replicate clutch slippage:
Slowly approach a corner in D, making sure the car is in D2, it will be until you stop due to the VW idiot software programmers. Go as slowly as you can as you start rolling through the corner, then feed in about 30-50% throttle. If you get any shudder, your clutches need replacing.
Once you make the technique work, it's easy to replicate for a dealership.

This is the way to test if the clutches are shuddering. But it doesn't check is the clutch is at end of life and is slipping. LÜK who make the clutches for the DSG have a procedure on their website. In brief it goes as follows:

In MANUAL mode get to 6th gear. From 1500 to 2000 rpm quickly go WOT (foot on floor but DO NOT hit the kick down) when you do this quickly look at the revs. If there is a non linear spike of any kind the K2 clutch has slipped and must be replaced.

Do the same procedure in 7th to check the K1 clutch.

If the clutch doesn't slip the issue is software related.

On another note were you traveling on a highway / road with no stop start driving prior to this slipping?

    Thanks for the clarification

@equiped I am getting more of a slip feeling rather than shuddering. Similar to driving manually, and holding the clutch at 50%, the car moves but it isn't fully engaged.

@nomadx38 it was standard traffic driving on all occasions.

I will give these steps a try next time I am driving to see what is happening.

I get shuddering 1 out of 10 times in city traffic but it goes away temporarily when I drive in manual. Wondering if I should raise this to the dealer now...

I have the exact same problem.

Every time it shudders I reset the DSG and it kinda goes away for a while.

I followed the instructions on this link

Wouldn't it be better to let the problem persist and get it fixed under warranty?

I'm outside VW warranty, car is a 2010 model. only got AWN extended bronze warranty, apparently they only cover a max of 1000 for the clutch
