Wow, big job, and very expensive. The mechatronics unit alone will cost anywhere between $4000 - $7000 from what I've heard on these forums. Hopefully VW took the hit and not you.
Anyone know what the costs are to replace:
- Clutch Packs
- Mechatronics Unit
- Whole DSG Transmission
on a 7spd (DQ200) box????
Trying to tally what 3 clutch packs and a new transmission will have cost VW

So I got the car back on Friday. It seems the Coil Pack(ignition coils) had failed on cylinder 4 again. Coil pack and Spark Plug was replaced. It seems to be running normal again for now. I also noticed the dash rattle is back after this repair!!! so annoying! I will wait a few weeks to see if the problem comes back before I send it back in for the rattle fix.
Can't say I can 'get happy'.......

FK ME! engine light and EPC light on again, same issue I had on 2nd and 25th of January 2013..... Also still getting high oil consumption and exhaust splatter on the hatch.... I have had enough, I will be asking for a new car or REFUND... Five times to the service center, three of which have been towed, in four months. WHAT A FKN JOKE.

Not so much a problem but my tyre pressure light keeps coming on! So annoying haha.
Have you tried resetting the sensor using the button in the glove box once you have pumped up the tyres?

Yea do it every time.
Also just an observation but my oil level hasn't dropped much/at all and I'm at 7700km. I remember being told and also reading after a certain number of k's (5000 I think) oil consumption should go down.
Only problem now is the squeaking seats...and yes I have the alacantara seats.
Is anyone else underwhelmed by the windscreen washer jets? Anyone had an intermittently leaky rear window washer jet?
My windscreen jets spray a fine but non-uniform mist onto the screen and there seems to be a significant amount of overspray that shoots off to either side without hitting anything on the car at all. Basically there is a lot less water hitting the screen than in any other car I've driven and it takes a fait bit of work to achieve any sort of cleaning action.
The rear window jet is the opposite - one very strong stream onto a spot the size of a 50 cent piece but at least the volume allows the wiper to do a decent job with just a couple of passes.
The most annoying thing is that the rear jet seems to leak. Not constantly, but bumpy roads and use of the front wash/wipe results in a trickle of water down the rear window, tailgate and bumper which then collects dust and looks pretty bloody awful.
I'll mention the leaky rear jet when I take it in for it's initial check-up this week but just wondering if the windscreen washer jets are supposed to be as I've described them?
