    Hi Jake!

It is not true. Fiesta Zetec is German built.

    Cheers!

Yup very true. They're all made in Germany for the time being and are very well built with great features especially considering the low asking price. Got one for the wife and loving it so far. Sporty and comfy ride too no really no need for any suspension mods.

hey mate, welcome to the forums!

this place is full of enthusiasts to varying degrees.

i'd say that there are more than a couple of people on here who wouldnt put anything but BP ultimate in their cars.

even though mine's a diesel, when im running low, i dont look for the nearest servo, i look for the nearest BP.

    Thanks Scott,

The Reason Im asking because as the specification says Ron95 is needed, therefore I dont know if there is a real benefit of using ron98 to fully utilize the new 1.2L turbo engine. Probably Ron95 will last as long as Ron98.

98 will give more power and burn more efficiently than the dirtier 95.
95 is a false economy as you pay less but you use more and it harms your engine more.

It was suggested that the 118TSI failures were due to our fuel standards being sub-par but i never found out if it was true or not.

    Hi mate,

If the book says 95 RON then there's no reason you shouldn't be able to use it. As suggested, you might get better economy and a tiny smidgen more power out of 98. Try both and see how your fuel economy goes.

Of course, regardless of what fuel is the minimum requirement, there are only advantages by using better fuel, apart from the few cents additional cost. In the long run, the 98 octane fuels like BP Ultimate contain cleaning agents which prevent build up of carbon deposits on your engine internals. Therefore, regardless of whether your minimum requirement is 91, 95 or 98 - you will always be better to use the 98.

I did this for a year. My first non-BP fill up was on my last trip to the servo - went Caltex...........not sure if it was in my head only, but it felt sluggish to begin with, but sort of got better as I went through the tank.

Will try Caltex again a couple more times, before maybe Mobile next, just for the sake of comparison.
