When the head unit turns on, it sends out the remote turn on wire signal, which turns on the relay, grounding the parking brake The 86,87,85 & 30 are terminals marked on the relay.

The specific relay you are after is a 12V single pole, double throw relay.

Got it, I picked one up this morning. Will install next weekend when I'm putting in the rest of my gear (speakers, amp and sub).

I've got a Golf as per sig, just posted in here because you had the same headunit.

Ok that makes sense. I was going to give you advice on running the amp wires in but it will be redundant.

Hey Jasonpb did you replace the RCD-310 or 510 with the RNS-510? I need to find out if changing the RCD-310 to a RNS-510 will be straight forward. Chances of you flying to Sydney to do an install?

I replaced a RCD-310 with an RNS-510, as long as you have a VCDS cable it's pretty straight forward. I had to change it over when nothing had been labelled in the ross-tech software but that's all there now.

It's easy to do, real easy.

Can anyone tell me where to buy the Fascia kit for a 2011 Polo in Perth? Or even online?

Is it the same mounting kit as the Golf?

    Cheers

Has anyone tried installing an Alpine unit in their Polo? I understand they make a kit now that allows for any of the units to be fitted in like a factory fit (Apparently it works with the steering wheel controls as well).

I'm wondering why you wouldn't choose a navigation unit as well as the A/V and BT functions.

The AVIC-F320BT is the same price but has the Navigation.

(I haven't done an audio spec comparison, so maybe the A/V unit is much better at the audio function).
