    Thx guys for the reply.

The annoying part is, in polo the drl is using low beam, back light and even the number plate light (all outside light on) except the dash light inside. I don't mind the drl in golf, jetta or passat as they only use small light or fog light but not your low beam and the back light still off.

I can understand if the dealer won't do it. But my question is if I personally get vcds, can i turn it off myself by changing the coding?

just want to get confirmation if anyone successfully done it before?

There have been people on here who have turned it off. Some have even been able to (I think) change the DRL behaviour so that only the low beams are on, no rear lights/number plate lights.

The dash light is on when the DRLs are on. I like how the dash lights start to dim as a reminder that it is starting to get too dark for just the DRLs, and to turn on the normal headlights.

If you don't like the DRLs on during the day, turn the headlight switch one position to the right. This turns off the DRLs. Just remember to turn the switch back when you get out of the car.

I didn't like the DRLs to begin with, but got used to them.

I am a strong believer of DRL's and agree they they should never be disconnected.

But I think as far as styling goes the way VW have done it on the Polo is pretty poor. Just doesn't look nice like the Golfs. Personally if it was me I would turn off the DRL for the low beam and move it down to the foglights (which can be done if you have the sports pack or a GTI).

Just a quick update guys, I just done an upgrade to rcd510 which is awesome, the guy that i bought from, vincent had vcds and try to help me to disable the drl, however it did not work. Funny thing is the drl option actually not active from the start. I guess it must be hard wiring then... So my13 polo 77tsi drl cannot be turn off by vcds... (Confirmed)

I did the heat-shrink trick as per the link above. Worked 100%. Got LED parking lights (which remain on).

No warning lights... get the 'canbus error free' LED's... Plenty of choices on a particular online auction site starting with 'E'
