    MY12.5 Polo

    Hey guys,

    I just recently bought a MY12.5 77tsi Polo from a couple that barely drove it (24,500km on the odometer).

    With this being my first decent car, I have decided that I want to put money into it to try and personalise it and make it my own (and to make it quicker). Not knowing much about cars, I was just wondering if I could get some entry/basic things I can do to my car.

    I have changed a headunit etc before, so you know; I am basically a certified mechanic...

    If you want to go faster in a straight line, then i suggest speaking to RD Technik about a tune, my research has shown these guys getting good reliable and safe outputs that are considerably higher than their competitors.

    BUT, its more fun going around corners in my opinion so maybe spend your first lot of dollars on a good suspension setup, sway bars etc and then enjoy that before asking for more power....

    Eeek! My wife and I are such a 'couple' as thats pretty much the mileage our MY12.5 Gti has covered! If you want to go faster early to mid next year, drop me a PM, we'll probably sell ours then

    Thanks for that Gavs! I certainly will look into it.

    On a side note, should I, or should I not attempt these myself? Sway bars look fairly straight forward to install, but I am thinking suspension etc is a bit harder too do.

    Floff, it's not terribly difficult at all. The hardest part is getting the ball joints off without damaging them or setting the car on fire. I would have someone more experienced to come and do that, because it can be a hell of a job if you haven't done them before.

    If by Enoggera you mean Brisbane, I'd be more than happy to come and help- but I will admit I'm totally useless with ball joints!
