Nice rims by the way! I am thinking the something similar for my Fabia.

The 215/35 R18's will be fine, but yeah as the others said just make sure they're 87 load rated.

Diesel_vert is getting down to the nitty gritty of the tyres, when they're talking about the 87V XL & 84V XL, which is what your tyre supplier should have done for you!

If you want to read about it it can be found here:
Tire code - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 87 and 84 is the loading index for each tyre. The V is the speed rating. The XL would just mean extra loading ie if the tyre had this marking on it, it essentially means it can handle extra loading.

    So, the:
    87V XL translates to 87=545kg V=240kmh XL=extra load

    84V XL translates to 84=500kg V=240kmh XL=Extra Load

Also here are some good rim and tyre calculators:

    tyre calc: Tire size calculator
rim and tyre: Custom rims, wheel tire packages for your ride - RIMSnTIRES.com
Tire Size Calculator - Tire & Wheel Plus Sizing

Broadly, there are two types of passenger tyres:

    - Standard Load
    - Extra Load or Reinforced (same thing)

    So for instance:

A standard load 215/35 R18 tyre will have a load index of 80.

An extra load 215/35 R18 tyre will have a load index of 84.

A standard load 225/35 R18 tyre will have a load index of 83.

An extra load 225/35 R18 tyre will have a load index of 87.

What offset are the wheels? depending on where they sit, you may struggle with wider tyres rubbing the suspension components / arch lining.

    Nice Rims.

I hope the tyre place is good about it.

I'm surprised they sent you out with those tyres. If you roll in with your standard fit 17inch wheels with 40 profile tyre, why would they send you out with a rim an inch bigger but the same profile and think it keeps things fine?

Yeah, thats the range, you will need to know what your actual rims are.

If your offset is too low or high, you will be restricted as to what size of rims you can run (if too low, you could consider spacing, but that has legalities to consider).

There is no such thing as a 215/35 R18 tyre with a load index of 87.

Fair enough. I assume at is because they're not wide enough or not as wide as the 225's?
