My car got keyed...Anyone know a good cut and polish in Sydney?

    Hey,

Unfortunately some person who is an obvious low life decided to key my car.

I am rather upset but nothing I can do but get her fixed. Its a shame. Hasn't even hit 10,000 Km's yet.

Generally if it has been keyed it will have gone through the clear coat and require a respray.

If this is the case you may need to get the whole side of the car done depending n your panel beater whether they can blend in the resprayed panels.

Aaarggh sorry to hear mate. As above depending on how deep it is it may be a respray job. If so hope you have insurance otherwise you'll be bending over for the painter.

Don't you lose your no-claims discount when getting it repainted on insurance?

Probably depends on the insurer. When I had my rear window smashed (on an older car), I had to pay the excess but it didn't affect my no-claim. Makes sense - clearly you're not at fault for the damage, but they always charge the excess until they find the at-fault person.

if its under a grand its best to pay it with cash/savings than paying the insurance out.

Depending on your colour my experiences with panel beaters I can and will only recommend one:

Ken Morrow Smash Repairs Gladesville on Buffalo road, easy access and they will easily drop the price by a good $100 for cash.

Edit: Female driver hit my right rear of the bumper, thank god the ABT carbon fibre was not hit/cracked she left a note under my wiper.

The pros: full bumper respray and its not going through insurance (as she paid me straight out to have it repaired/unreported).

The Cons: No car for two days xD

Acko whatever happens mate do yourself a favour, get a minimum two quotes!

Indeed. I had another look at it. The rear boot hasn't gone through the paint and its still white underneath. The left rear fender is a different story though. Hmmmm Yeh I wasn't going to go through insurance. Annoyingly I am out of state for 2 weeks. I have to go to Melbourne on Business. Will probs plug the scratch with polish until I get back.
