MY 16 Polo GTI Manufacture date and Model number

Hi all

I'm going to buy a MY16 Polo GTI and notice that the manufacture date is on the 29/05/2015. Does it sound right? As far as I aware that the news about the introduction of the new MY16 happened around July 2015.

And also the model number is 6C19TZ/16. When I did a google check on the number 6C19TZ/16, only the MY15 shown up.

Just wondering if any MY16 Polo GTI owner can help clarify this?

It's my understanding too that MY16's were built July onwards too. My July 15 build states 6C19TX

Certainty would be if the car simply has a 'SPORT' button on the dash. This is a unique feature to MY16's.

After doing more research, I noticed that there 2015 MY16 model could be built in June 2015 onwards based on the following car advert from the dealer.

But I guess as long as it comes with RVC and

If your VIN number has a GY in it, it is MY16. FY is a MY15

e.g. WVWZZZ6RZGY0xxxxx is a MY16

We told the dealer to sell our initial order and waiting for a MY16 instead, pick it up either Friday this week or Tuesday. Amazing how much of a feature jump they had, so is yours an MY16 bigwalker? I mean do you have sport mode?

I have yet to pick mine up. Expected delivery date is beginning of November. So we will see by then. But so far every details matches with the info provided here...

AFAIK, the main changes for MY16 are a Rear View Camera and the Sport mode. I ordered mine with DAP so got the front and rear senors and Sat Nav. So far, the Sound actuator in Sport mode is not too intrusive. Maybe VW has toned down the sound actuator volume in this batch.

Ah okay,

Ours is just getting registered at the moment, hopefully we pick it up Friday. Fingers crossed but we're definitely MY16
