DQ200 will handle anything you chuck at it, tests show it holds high numbers (Typical VW/Audi keeping their necks safe with the utterly rubbish 250nm claim)....it'll last forever and any amount of turned torque these 1.4's will ever make. Numbers don't mean much but I'm heading for 260hp/330nm, will let you know how she is after 6 months.
I am nuts: DQ200 (DSG7) - The max torque story v2
On another note, how can people not love the DSG!!? I just recently moved from an S3 8P, extremely modified, impractical, awful on fuel, getting old, ride was rough as guts after the coilers and full pollybushed arrangement, 6 speed manual, even modded to a short shift ....DSG is night and day more fun, never having to take your hands off the wheel, shifts are instant, just having paddles themselves is brilliant, if every performance can I ever owned had this option I would have opted for this.
In a nutshell, for me, it feels 100% more like a performance/sports car BECAUSE of the paddles and instant shift.
These lads will open her up to accept 550nm

The car I test drove was a DSG. (didn't have any manuals in stock) And I loved it, completely agree about the paddles. Not to mention, when you don't feel like it you don't have to change gears. I would of went the DSG if they wernt so expensive to replace. (not saying it would need to be replaced, but more of a 'just in case')
So I just got off the phone to a mob in Brisbane called Harding Performance. They don't do the OEM+ remap for the ecu yet . They couldn't give me an accurate time of when they will be able to either, they just said its definitely coming. They do their own brand of Remap which they say is just as good however, it is more tricky to return it back to stock if the car ever needs to go in for warranty work.
Which to be honest, is abit of a turn off. Would hate to have my warranty voided. (Considering I got extended to 5 years LOL) They did say however that it takes it from 141KWs to 180KWs!!! That's just with remap, no intake or exhaust. They said you can expect another 30-35KWs from intake and exhaust. Would be a lot of fun!
Though, at this stage ill probably just get a Cat back exhaust done so its easy to swap back to OEM if I have any warranty issues. That and I still need to find out what I'm going to do about lowering it. A few coilover brands have bought out for them, Bit worried about making it too stiff and uncomfortable though. Would like something that feels standard but a few cms lower.
Cant wait to get it!!!
