Gear oil for these is 75W-90 full synthetic GL4+.

As per the image, #5 are the drain and fill plugs.
Yes, only thing is there is a lower spec transmission that does not have these plugs and does not appear to be serviceable. I posted that pic of the next model or two up so that OP could look for them. And I'm sure the oil you mentioned is perfectly adequate if the OEM stuff is too hard to find.

7-speed DSG in these isn't serviceable, but the differential in it is. However, there's a special service tool for filling it, as it's done via the breather.

    You make a good point KiwiME, it's a 07/2010 6R Polo 1.2TSI 6-Spd manual (WVWZZZ6RAU068933).

Dealer just says "The oil is filled for life in these cars, you don't need to change it". Ever so helpful.

Now that I've seen the location of the #5 items on that parts diagram, I'll take a look at the car and see if it looks the same.

I think the dealer may be correct based on what I'm seeing in the parts list ... although there must be a way to do it and the oil p/n is indicated. Ignore the image in the previous post, that was a 5-spd.

You should be able to dump it out through either 17 or 20 and fill through 13.

Just measure what came out & refill with same quantity.

You'll need to source suitable hose / funnel. I did my Octavia using a large syringe as a funnel. Filling the gearbox took around 2 hours.
