    Manual GTI

Is it possible to get a manual Polo GTI in Australia or anywhere else in the world?

If not, what would one do to a Polo TSI in order to make it drive more like a GTI?

I'm thinking primarily of the steering and chassis more than grunt, e.g. make it drive like it had the factory sports pack perhaps?

Lower springs and upgraded sway bars.
There is no option for a Manual Polo GTI here, you could get an Audi A1 or a Skoda Fabia to replace it though as they are essentially identical.

Thanks, Tv. Too bad the sportiest Polo is not available in a manual, not even in Germany it seems. Same with the A1 Sport - S-tronic only. I imagine the Fabia sports model is DSG only too. Doesn't matter, it's only a city runaround. Will look into those springs and bars.

    Manual GTI

Shame the Polo GTI isnt offered with a manual gearbox (i would have considered it if it did). Although given the ratio of DSG to manual owners (in other sporty models - Golf GTI / Golf R / Scirocco R) im not surprised that VW didnt bother offerering a manual.

DSG owners far outweigh manual owners these days....unfortunately.

But i specifically ordered my manual Golf R and will enjoy the feedback and control of a traditional manual gearbox for as long as i can.

Haven't driven one yet (my Fabia vRS isn't here yet...), but I thought the DSG was a clutch less manual. Lets you drive almost like an auto, and have some level is manual control. Of course, it means that I can't just de-clutch to ease the car into a corner or in braking. One of my friends has a 2012 Polo GTI which necessitated a slightly different style around Wakefield Park (brake harder, longer, use the paddles to change gear at the turn in point etc.).
I will find out what it is like eventually though...

Nah mate, you don't have that kind of control. The Merc/AMG box is far better at doing what it's told, VAG like to think they know how it should work best which to be fair, is A LOT better than Mitsubishi and fords DSG efforts.

Haha I love the DSG in the new Ford Fiesta. Floor the accelerator and then quickly brake...haha it doesn't disengage the clutch and keeps pushing forward full throttle for a few seconds while your frantically trying to brake!

I haven't noticed that in my wife's Fiesta. It's less jerky than the DSG at low speeds, to be honest. Not as fast shifting, though that's hardly an issue for that kind of car.
