Cool Looking to uprgrade to DRL bi xenons, any tips?

Hey guys, i wanna get myself some OEM bi xenons with the driving lights for the polo. I bought some lower fog lights a while back but i want to get the DRLs to get them both done in one sitting.

Who has any advice on where to get a good deal on these driving lights?

And should i look into the aftermarket brands, also, when purchased should i then take them to a dealer to get them input into the computer etc.

Thanks guys, this will be the first thing i do to the car, and i dont plan on much more as i like it the way it is, so i wanna do it right.

Hope this helps Audi VW No-Fault HID Kit Xenon kit

You can change them yourself but I would recommend taking the car to a professional (your mechanic or auto-electrician) to change and test them for you.

I think jsoto2005 was after the full bi xenon headlight housing with DRL LEDs. I think someone on here has looked into it and the cost/effort to get oem was ridiculous.
My suggestion would be to look for aftermarket housings with drls, but stick to halogen bulbs. Will be cheaper and easier.

So that's USD$120-200 each (as I read it)
With a minimum order of 20 pairs.
Just for the assembly - no bulbs or electronic leveling units.

So $4,800 plus shipping, plus GST, plus any import duty, plus whatever it will cost for the xenon kits to put bulbs in there.

Technically speeking there is no real easy or cheep way to do this - there is also no legal way - for this reason no dealer will do it (unless you were willing to pay them more than what the car is worth)

I should know I did it - the 1600$ option that is (Haha it was worth it though, I'm pretty sure mine mine was the first in Aus and only 2 other cars I know have had it done) - mines a TSI BTW so I can't option it, otherwise I would have.

The cheapest you will get a whole kit for is about 1600$ to your door. Thats excluding the levelling system or washers becuase it's just impossible to fit them in (would need new bumper bar, jets, washer reservoir, wiring harness, dashboard, modules.....list just goes on).

Don't forget that the pin layout on the plugs are very different and it's not just plug and play. The standard halogens are a 10pin as opposed to the 14pin on the Xenons.

Also I'm quite suspicious of the first link as it says it comes with D2S bulbs and ballasts - the OEM Xenons are D3S which is quite a different setup - just saying.

Not to bad of a price though if they are OEM. You can pick up OEM sets (LHD sadly) from Europe for about 600 delivered but unfortunately you pay a big premium for RHD.
