Detroit wheels are now standard. Not sure on wait times though...
Hey all,
I am looking at buying a Polo GTi in the near future and had a few questions that may seem basic but I admit I am not finding as much info around as I'd like so thought I'd ask you good people here.
1. The wheels that I have seen on new Polo GTi's the 'Detroit' alloys rims same as those on the Golf GTi are these now standard? As the previous ones from what I can gather were called 'Denver' alloys I am not a massive fan of so if those are still the standard buy I'd rather know so I ask for an upgrade and not be surprised when it arrives.
2. Any ideas as to waiting lists these days? I know a long time ago the list was quite massive but these days it wouldn't be anywhere near as bad would it?
I work for a car dealer chain in Sydney in Accounts but sadly we don't deal in Volkswagen's (bugger!) but hoping my knowledge of costings can come in handy when negotiating. Be good to have some ideas as to these 2 factors going in though as car dealers can be a little overly optimistic.
I know might seem like basic questions but any replies would be welcomed.
Thanks a lot guys...

32.5 for base model and xenon headlights seems to be the average.
Just make sure you do not get old stock. This is a possibility for any model, anywhere in the world!
Possibly some CAV engine models in stock (just a guess), so be weary of a very good deal.....
But when you do get it, post some pics pls
Reiterating 444YYY's comments, beware old stock. When I bought my GTI in April, I was offered 3 vehicles, all "identical" (barring the option of Xenons on one) MY13 cars. I asked them to check the engine codes and one was a CAVE and the other 2 were CTHE. The sales team at my dealership, who I get on very well with and genuinely don't believe they were trying to bullsh*t me, had no idea that the engine had been changed in the vehicle.
They knew mater, the dealer bulletins are avaialble to the public so they would have known.
Bradsta, really mate all your asnwers would have been found if you just clicked on the sticky part of the thread. You couldn't have searched too hard if you didn't find it...
i'm locking this thread as it is no longer needed.
